Brain Injury in New Mexico. You may know someone affected by brain injury or stroke. Across the US, a head injury occurs every seven seconds. Over 5.3 million people live with traumatic brain injury (TBI). Twenty thousand New Mexicans visited an emergency room due to TBI in 2013. Many were hospitalized. A large number of people in NM live with brain injuries, concussions, or stroke. They need long-term care to help them keep hope alive, survive, and thrive. Please help us so that we may offer hope to New Mexicans.
The Cause. The Brain Injury Alliance of NM refers, informs, and educates. We offer conferences and support groups. We work to prevent brain injuries, rebuild lives, and get people back into the community. We work with the state legislature for funding for support services, safety, and suitable care. Successes have included helmet laws for kids on bikes and safety rules for teens in sports. Our goal is to create a wellness center for those with brain injury. Our wellness center will provide help with attention and memory, social activities, and other services to enable people with brain injury to live full lives. Your gift will help!
How You Can Help. Choose your way to sponsor and join our golf tournament. Register as a solo player or team. Sponsor a hole or a contest prize. Prize contests will include men’s and women’s closest to the pin and longest drive. We’ll be so happy, we’ll celebrate and shout your contribution via social media and at the tournament site. Please take action to help us assist New Mexicans in need of support as they live with and heal from brain injury.
