A brain injury can happen anytime, anywhere, to anyone. Educating yourself about them after they happen is often a “too little too late” approach.
Brain Injury is a serious public health issue in New Mexico and across the nation. While not always visible, it can result in very serious physical, intellectual and emotional disabilities.
Brain Injury can be a jolt in a car accident, a shaken baby; an accidental fall while walking, biking or snowboarding; it is a result of an assault, tumor, or a roadside bomb, and frequently is caused by a stroke or lack of oxygen to the brain, to name a few examples.
